After introducing the Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator to people, what did they actually end up buying? This information is definitely helpful when making an important shopping decision. Whenever we buy something, it is always easier to push the “Submit Order” Button when placing the order if we are very sure that we want this specific product. And I admit myself – I’d like to follow in certain shopping situations. I check for reviews and then try to make an informed decision.
I used shop at Amazon.com for this purpose – I like their large section of customer reviews and other related product information. Please note that at this point I often do not shop at Amazon anymore. Many products you would expect to ship from Amazon are actually offered only by certain sub-vendors. So, there you have it why I am not shopping as much anymore at Amazon.
Anyway, Amazon is still a helpful to make a buying decision and then go buy somewhere else. When I started looking at wine aerators myself I noticed the following information at Amazon’s website. The Vinturi Wine Aerator had over 300 customer reviews (356 at the time of this writing). This large number of reviews is usually a solid indicator for a very popular product and I consider popular as good in this case.
I then read all the 1-Star and 2-Star reviews. As with so many things in life, people who complain about something are much more vocal than people who love a product and just silently enjoy it. Well, out of the 356 customer reviews there were only Four 1-Star reviews and only Two 2-Star reviews (again, at the time of this writing). 6 out of 356 – for me that is a very clear indicator that I am looking at a good product.
So, now that I know that the product itself is very good I can then use the Internet to my advantage and pick a vendor who offers me the best overall package (price, customer service, low shipping fees, etc.). Sometimes that is Amazon.com, but again – more often these are smaller or less-known online vendors. When I check out their websites I often find related niche products that you never find at the large online retailers. Go figure. So, there you have it.
