Wines for Summer Grilling

by WineAerator

Summer, sun, and BBQ. Every time Winter is upon us I start missing those warm summer nights. Summer grilling does not always have to mean you drink beer with your friends and buddies. I use my BBQ as the center of creating meals during summer quite often. And when I credence a meal it is good to know that there are many wines that go extremely well with food from the BBQ.

Wines for grilling and bbqZinfandel wines are a great choice for summer grilling. Red Zinfandels are able to handle a wide variety of red meats – the meat of choice during a summer BBQ for many people. This red wine compliments the bold taste of meat that comes from the grill. Another great choice for summer grilling is a Merlot wine. It brings out the best when enjoyed with Pork or Chicken meat. It also does well with the different salads one enjoys during summer.

Not sure what wine you really want to bring to a grill party when being invited? A Pino Noir is your Jack of all Trades wine of choice. It works great with burgers, steaks, fish, chicken – even with hot dogs if you wanted to. This wine is so flexible (so to speak), you can go barely wrong with this wine when going to a BBQ.

In general, some BBQ meals go better with red wines, while others will taste better with a glass of white wine for sure. It also comes down to your personal preference. White wines are usually served chilled which is something I prefer during summer. I think it is more refreshing. I do enjoy a glass of red wine more during Winter times, but again – that is my personal preference. Also, when I have guests over for a Summer Grilling party I use my Vinturi Wine Aerator to “beef” up the wine for my guests. It’s amazing how many people have never had the chance to taste the difference before. Is it summer yet?
